Confirm data is being sent to Mailchimp

Article Last Updated: March 4, 2021

Sometimes you’ll need to confirm that data is in-fact being sent from your site and being received by the Mailchimp servers. For some reason users may be signing up through the forms generated by Easy Forms for Mailchimp by YIKES, but they may never receive the confirmation email. One helpful way to debug this error is to confirm that the Mailchimp API servers are receiving your requests. You can do this by signing into your Mailchimp account and viewing the latest 24 hours of Mailchimp API calls.

1) Login to Mailchimp

The first step you’ll want to take is to login to your Mailchimp account and head into the ‘API Keys‘ page. You can access your account page directly through the following link:

https://admin.mailchimp.com/account/api

2) Check the ‘Last 24 hours of API calls’ Table

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the table of data for the ‘Last 24 hours of API calls‘. If data is being received by the Mailchimp API from your site you should see something like the following:

latest-24-hour-success

If your getting an error somewhere, you’ll see a red x in the ‘Result‘ column and in the ‘Response‘ column you’ll see a more descriptive reason as to the cause of the error.

If you need additional help debugging, you may want to take a look at the following Easy Forms for Mailchimp by YIKES support articles:

  1. I receive the error “SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate.”, why?
  2. I received the following error, “We received an unexpected error: null”
  3. I hit submit on my form, but nothing happens.
  4. I’m not seeing all my lists on the drop-down menu when I go to make a new form.
